Nunzia is living in the same building as me, and as soon as she knew about the project What makes you feel beautiful she wrote me that she wants to participate and loves the idea. She came to the photoshooting with a delicious cheese cake she made, such a sweet surprise! Nunzia is really kind, positive and energetic, and always willing to help. It was a pleasure talking with her and capturing her positivity, thank you Nunzia!
What makes you feel beautiful?
I feel beautiful when I smile and this happens when I'm good with myself, when I know I gave my best. Because I am convinced that each one of us is a unique and unrepeatable, and this uniqueness makes us shine.
Thoughts on Mass Media?
The media, especially in Italy, too often recalls the image of a woman aesthetically perfect, and this idea of perfection is really questionable. The truth is that perfection does not exist, but is a product of dictations of time or societies based on the worship of the image. It 's coming from the ancient fear of women, of their strength and their intelligence. Women today are freed from some bondages, but they are oppressed by the cult of the image. The most terrible thing is that the brainwashing starts soon: I find it unethical what the media and fashion request from girls and bombarding them with stereotypical images when they are fragile and easily influenced.
What do you recommend to other women?
I think as women and mothers, we have a duty to teach the younger ones to love and respect themselves. To cultivate the sensitivity, strength and courage. We must teach them, as Audrey Hepburn said, that the most beautiful jewel that a woman can wear is her smile.
